When Love Says YES in the Clouds
Hello, all lovers of mountains, adventure, and most importantly, love! Today, I want to share with you one of those stories that reminds me, as a photographer, why I love my job so much. Imagine this: majestic mountains, endless views, and two people about to take the most important step in their lives. And me? I was there, hidden behind the lens, to capture every secret moment.
Mission: Secret Proposal at Sea to Sky Gondola
It was one sunny morning in Squamish when I set off for the Sea to Sky Gondola with an extraordinary task. My goal was to document a secret proposal for a wonderful couple – Anna and Petr. Anna loves the mountains, and Petr knew that right here, high above Howe Sound, would be the perfect place to ask her to marry him. My task? Blend in with the crowd, pretend to be just another tourist admiring the beauty of British Columbia, and wait for the right moment.
Adrenaline and Romance on the Lookout
My heart was pounding as we ascended the gondola. I knew Petr was nervous, but also determined. We chose a secluded viewpoint, a little away from the main hustle and bustle, with breathtaking views of the fjord and the surrounding peaks. The weather was on our side – blue sky, just a few clouds, and crisp mountain air. The perfect backdrop for such a special occasion.
Anna had no idea. She was immersed in the beauty of the landscape, laughing at Petr’s jokes, and enjoying their time together. And then it happened. Petr turned to Anna, his eyes sparkling, and in his hand, a small box. At that moment, I knew it was time. I quickly raised my camera and started capturing. Anna’s expression when she realized what was happening was priceless – shock, emotion, tears of joy, and finally the most beautiful „YES“!
Love in Every Shot
After the touching moment when Anna happily accepted Petr’s declaration, we could finally relax. Petr gave me the signal, and I could „reveal“ myself as their photographer. Anna’s surprise was twofold! The rest of the photoshoot took place in a much more relaxed atmosphere. We walked across the suspension bridge, stopped at several viewpoints, and captured their fresh joy and love embraced by the Canadian wilderness.
This secret proposal at the Sea to Sky Gondola reaffirmed to me that love is the greatest adventure. And being there when two people decide to unite their lives is always a huge honor for me. Anna and Petr now have not only beautiful memories but also photographs that will forever remind them of that magical day when they said „YES“ in the clouds.
